Elina Ruohonen hinterfragt das Konzept stiller Malerei; ihre Bilder sind interaktiv, wobei Reflexionen die  Hauptrolle spielen. Die Malerei auf Plexi-Spiegelglas erlaubt es, den Raum hinter  dem Betrachter zu erforschen. Die Bilder stellen den Betrachter  mit verschiedenen Kontexten und Perspektiven in Verbindung.  Auf den Oberflächen dargestellte Vorbilder und Ideale hinterfragen  das Konzept der eigenen Identität des Betrachters.   

Ruohonen questions the concept of still pictures, her paintings being interactive, a reflection taking a main role.  Painting on mirror plexiglass gives a possibility to explore the  space behind the observer. Paintings present the observer with  various contexts and perspectives. Presented role models on the surfaces question the ideas of the own identity of the  observer, on a surrounding scene.
